چکیده
The additively fabricated functionally gradient structures can be a potential replacement for conventionally manufactured via fusion welding techniques. A SS321/Inconel 625 material was processed by wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) process. WAAM-formed SS321 comprises of equiaxed and columnar structures, while the Inconel consists dendritic structures. It concluded that very narrow interface formed between FGM without forming cracks or fissures. Energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS) element maps show smooth transition elements at much segregation EDS point scan confirmed presence laves phase. electron backscatter diffraction results region revealed continuous crystallographic growth with large elongated grains in <001> orientation. Tensile properties were better comparable than wrought alloys, sample failed on side. micro-hardness steadily changed from 226-195 HV 272-236 625, respectively. WAAM process demonstrates successful components multi-material controlled properties.

Mechanical Properties of a Newly Additive Manufactured Implant Material Based on Ti-42Nb
The application of Ti-6Al-4V alloy or commercially pure titanium for additive manufacturing enables the fabrication of complex structural implants and patient-specific implant geometries. However, the difference in Young's modulus of α + β-phase Ti alloys compared to the human bone promotes stress-shielding effects in the implant-bone interphase. The aim of the present study is the mechanical c...

Non-destructive testing techniques based on neutron imaging and diffraction can provide information on the internal structure of relatively thick metal samples (up to several cm), which are opaque to other conventional non-destructive methods. Spatially resolved neutron transmission spectroscopy is an extension of traditional neutron radiography, where multiple images are acquired simultaneousl...

Cast nickel aluminum bronze (NAB) alloy is widely used for large engineering components in marine applications due to its excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. Casting porosity, as well as coarse microstructure, however, are accompanied by a decrease in mechanical properties of cast NAB components. Although heat treatment, friction stir processing, and fusion welding were im...

Solid Freeform Fabrication (SFF) processes have demonstrated the ability to produce parts with locally controlled composition. In the limit, processes such as Three-Dimensional Printing(3DP) can create parts with composition to the length scale of 100 μm. To exploit this potential, new methods for automatic design of Functionally Gradient Material (FGM) parts need to be developed. This paper pr...

Hybrid Layered Manufacturing (HLM) combines the benefits of both subtractive and Additive Manufacturing (AM). In this paper authors did characterization of AM components by using Kernel Average Misorientation (KAM), Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) and hardness tester. The main focus is on matrix integrity during Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) deposition and surface quality during machinin...
